Tuesday, September 7 – Virtual Rally, Call-In Campaign & Twitter Storm
Join parents and students for a Call-in Campaign & Twitter Storm throughout the day on Sept. 7 and Rally at 4 PM outside the Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education headquarters to DEMAND A REMOTE OPTION FOR MA STUDENTS AGE 12 AND UNDER until a vaccine is widely available for that age group.
RSVP and find the Zoom link on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/1505279229821127?ref=newsfeed
For many districts across MA school is set to start on September 9th, and the Dept of Secondary and Elementary Education, along with Governor Baker, has issued a ban on remote learning. This means students age 12 and under (who are, as yet, unable to be vaccinated) are left with no option other than in-person learning. We ask that DESE allow parents to have options that do not result in our children facing exposure to Covid-19 and the highly contagious Delta variant, or sacrifice their spots in their beloved school communities. Give us an option for virtual schooling until the vaccine is widely available to children 12 and under, AND ensure our children’s seats are held until they are able to safely return to in person learning.
8 AM – 5 PM: Tweet and Call MA DESE!
